Our Philosophy and Mission
To provide the best supports and resources necessary for each individual in our care, regardless of age and complexity of their condition; to reach their maximum potential, live a healthy and safe life, live in an environment that best serves their needs, become an active member of their community, and to be responsible to and for themselves.
Our Values
-
Individuals have a right to live in the least restrictive environment, most natural setting and in a place where they can learn to live up to their full potential.
-
Individuals have a responsibility to themselves, their families, and communities they live and we will work to assist them in maintaining this responsibility.
-
It is our duty and obligation to uphold the rights of all individuals in our care.
-
We will strive to provide a program environment that is safe for our person’s in our care and rewarding for all staff, foster/adoptive parents, caregivers and contractors.
-
We believe that the families, individuals, and ourselves have a responsibility to work and find positive solutions to any challenge that may arise.
Our Program
Our program focuses on understanding the impact that the behavior of a child/youth in-care has on themselves, the foster/adoptive/kinship parent and the family, the community at large including the school, and the child/youth’s family of origin. As such we believe in assisting a child/youth in understanding the issues behind their behavior and empowering them to learn alternative coping skills. We also teach the foster/adoptive/kinship parent and family to understand these behaviors, provide interventions to assist the child/youth to find alternative behaviors and to reduce the impact the child’s/youth’s behaviors have on the home.
