Potential Foster/Adoptive/Kinship Parents
Foster/Foster to Adopt

You must:

Be 21 years of age or older

Reside in Texas
-
Every individual 14 years and older living in the home must be able to pass the required background checks
-
Stable home life (Married/divorced/pregnant/widowed timeframe)
-
Financially stable
-
Mentally and physically stable enough to meet the needs of a child with trauma
-
Dependable transportation
-
Space to accommodate a child or youth in the home
-
At least a High School Diploma, GED or be able to pass a test for literacy
-
Willing to undergo required verification inspections and quarterly inspections
-
Willing to undergo required Pre-Service and Annual training classes
-
Agree and abide by our no corporal punishment discipline policy
-
Abide by the state agency standards, policies, practices and procedures

Adoptive
-
You must:

Be 21 years of age or older

Easier process for kinship families to become license:

Long Term Foster Care, Foster to Adpot or PMC/PCA

Much like the processes for each listed above, except:

Less invasive home requirements

Financial assistances can be provided upon request and proof of finances
